The annual trainee weekend took place on 19th October in Manchester at the Double Tree Hilton. There was a fantastic turnout of 79 trainees from all over the country. The programme was based on feedback from the previous year and included a good balance of tumour site updates, discussions of the practicalities of running a service, career discussions, exam discussions and issues surrounding NHS commissioning. Professor Stan Kaye gave an inspiring presentation on Phase 1 trials and was also the after dinner speaker. The weekend began and ended with a business meeting to discuss topical issues, in particular the National Trainee Survey and Shape of Training. General feedback comments from trainees included:
- "Great weekend, thanks", "Nothing would make the weekend better, it's already great","Thank you for a really useful and fun weekend","Great conference, great opportunity for trainees."
- Thankyou to Alison Norton and sponsors Roche and Sanofi
